Broken iPhones and MacBooks!

They did it again, but this time there is no need for a class action lawsuit! Apple has admitted that some devices have issues. It seems that last year’s iPhone X and a specific MacBook Pro model are now eligible for free repairs.

As they stated, “Apple has determined that some iPhone X displays may experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module.” These touch issues include the display not responding to touches and sometimes reacting even though it was not touched.

But that’s not it. Apple is also offering free repairs for the 13 inch MacBook Pro (with touch bar). The issue is quite serious and users need to be careful. Apparently, a limited number of SSDs in MacBooks may result in data loss and failure of the drive. The company stated that the units were sold between June 2017 and 2018.

You definitely need a fast charger for your iPhone X

It’s great that the new iPhones come with fast charging, but Apple has decided not to include a fast charging brick in the box. Customers that are looking to fast charge their iPhones will have to buy a new $50 charger that supports fast charging from Apple.

The standard charger that is included in the box (4.85V/0.95A) will fully charge the iPhone X in about 3.5 hours (the same goes for the iPhone 8 Plus). You can charge the iPhone using an iPad charger (24W), which will charge your phone 30 minutes to an hour faster. On the other hand, Apple’s $50 USB-C 29W charger will be able to charge the iPhone X from 0 to 50% in about 30 minutes!

At a first glance, many might be hesitant to consider buying the fast charger, but in my opinion, that should be the second thing you invest in (after a protective case), if you’re buying the new iPhone X. Let’s be honest, who wants to wait 3.5 hours for a phone to fully charge?

iPhone 8  and iPhone X – Thoughts and impressions

With Apple’s recent unveiling of its new phones, we can only be sure of one thing, that these are really exciting times. I spent the better part of yesterday trolling people I know that are iPhone fans and woke up today to more than 10 messages telling me “They are good phones, what are you talking about?!” or something to that effect. Which tells us one thing, that some of my friends don’t get jokes.

I won’t be discussing the phones specifications/hardware/software, but rather focus on some features highlighted in the event. Here are my actual unbiased thoughts (as an Android user) on the new iPhones and those features (no bashing):
