Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus – First Impressions

Usually I leave my impressions and opinions of the devices until the end of my posts, but not today. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are really great phones and they do bring a lot to the table, but if you own a Galaxy S8 or a Note 8, then it isn’t much of an upgrade. Let’s get started…

An essential guide to customizing your Android phone

Written by Ara Wagoner, Android Central

Be different, not the same is more than a tagline when it comes to Android.

Android provides us the freedom to change nearly everything about our phones, especially when it comes to our home screens. We aren’t stuck with a bland grid of icons; we don’t live in our app drawers the way iPhone users do. We can add widgets; we can add search bars and gestures; we can have blank space wherever we want, not just at the bottom of an unfilled page! And if we don’t like the way our home screens look with the launcher that came with our phone, we can ditch it and use a third-party launcher, opening us up to new worlds of customization and theming. You definitely need a fast charger for your iPhone X

It’s great that the new iPhones come with fast charging, but Apple has decided not to include a fast charging brick in the box. Customers that are looking to fast charge their iPhones will have to buy a new $50 charger that supports fast charging from Apple.

The standard charger that is included in the box (4.85V/0.95A) will fully charge the iPhone X in about 3.5 hours (the same goes for the iPhone 8 Plus). You can charge the iPhone using an iPad charger (24W), which will charge your phone 30 minutes to an hour faster. On the other hand, Apple’s $50 USB-C 29W charger will be able to charge the iPhone X from 0 to 50% in about 30 minutes!

At a first glance, many might be hesitant to consider buying the fast charger, but in my opinion, that should be the second thing you invest in (after a protective case), if you’re buying the new iPhone X. Let’s be honest, who wants to wait 3.5 hours for a phone to fully charge?

Google event’s recap: A bunch of new pixels

Last week Google announced some great devices and others that just confused me, at a really boring event. Google, keep them products coming, but also keep the event short next time. We still love you. To summarize last week’s event in two words it would be “Artificial Intelligence”. A direction all tech giants have been taking and focusing on. This event, Google expanded the uses of its Google Assistant and just added it to a bunch of new devices. Continue reading “Google event’s recap: A bunch of new pixels”

iPhone 8 – Why does it exist?

As we saw over the past week, the iPhone 8’s sales have been terrible due to the iPhone X, which most iOS fans are probably holding out for. In return, since Apple announced its new iPhones, we have been continuously hearing this question a lot, whether online or from friends, “Why did Apple make the iPhone 8?”. Well, it is really simple.
