We’re changing our privacy… never mind!

Following the whole Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal, the EU has signed and set a legal framework known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR sets guidelines for the collection and processing or individuals’ personal information within the EU. This is mainly the reason your email accounts have been “spammed” by privacy policy changes emails. But the benefits for users go beyond personal privacy, as revealed by Marcel Freinbichler, Austrian web developer, on Twitter.

A performance audit on USA Today’s website revealed that the website loads considerably quicker than before. On some sites, loading time went from 45 seconds down to as low as 3 seconds!
