OnePlus certainly had me excited about the OnePlus 5 prior to its release, and I was determined to getting the smartphone so it could be my daily driver. OnePlus has got us used to its cheap “flagship killer” with the high specs. The question is why is database marketing so hard for companies in Lebanon? I had a rant recently on social media, on my personal account, on how most companies in Lebanon fail to take advantage of Email Marketing. My posts focused on how most companies fail to even send out an email to highlight their upcoming events/promotions, a problem that Samsungctc doesn’t seem to face. That is great, right? Well, not entirely… I have received a few emails since the release of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, marketing the new flagship and its features. The failure in their email marketing campaign happened last week when I received an email marketing the new Galaxy S8 accessories. Shouldn’t you go ahead and get me to buy the smartphone first before you try to sell me it’s accessories? Come on… your customer database is there for a reason. Identifying your customers, the products they have purchased, and possible upcoming interests, are key for a successful email marketing campaign.

Earlier this week there were predictions that Samsung is set to surpass Apple as the “world’s most profitable tech company”. Huawei Lebanon has been strongly pushing the P10 and P10 plus smartphones since their release. Their social media campaigns focused on promoting both devices through the use of a certain Lebanese professional photographer.
It’s all been good until they released their latest promotional video. The ad is basically the same professional photographer, taking photos, speaking about a certain feature, and then showing the photos. Now that seems great, doesn’t it? Well, it would have been, if they were discussing the camera, sure… but the ad was about the phones supercharge feature. Come on Huawei… seriously?
